KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Police say they arrested a 48-year-old man Sunday afternoon after they caught him smashing the window on their cruiser with a shovel.
A police officer was leaving the public safety building on Howard Street around 4:30 p.m. when he saw the man smashing the windshield of the car with a shovel, according to a Sunday release from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.
The man placed the shovel on the ground when confronted and proceeded to tell the officer to take him to jail.
Police said he told the officer he damaged the cruiser because he was upset with his girlfriend.
It’s unclear what charges the man might face.
