GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.– The Gerald R. Ford International Airport is looking a little bigger lately after a parking lot extension reopened.

The North Lot reopened to the public on Monday after a two and a half month long closure. The lot was reconstructed and expanded and now offers 100 new parking spaces.

The new and improved lot offers more convenience to fliers with an easy transition from parking garages and a new canopy to protects visitors from the  weather.

The North Lot also has new signs and paint directing passengers to their flights and 25,000 square feet of sidewalk to improve safety. 9,200 tons of asphalt was used to complete the project.
