Spectrum Health is offering a new technology to help patients who live in remote areas get the care they need.

MedNow is an affordable way to bridge the distance between patients and medical providers. It offers special video visits with Grand Rapids-based Spectrum Health specialist via a secure video connection from remote Spectrum Health clinics and hospitals.

This new way of communication is a convenient way to deliver care to patients who live in areas where specialty services are limited or not available. With MedNow, it's just like talking to the doctors in person. Plus, you don't need special technology skills to talk to them, everything is set up ahead of time by the staff.

The service is similar to Skype or Facetime, so if you've ever used those services before, the process should be easy!

Dr. David Franzblau, a board-certified psychiatrist from Spectrum Health, explains how this new technology helps patients at their Psychiatry and Behavior Medicine facility.

The facility is located on 2750 East Beltline Avenue Northeast in Grand Rapids. For more information call (616) 447-5820.
