WEST MICHIGAN- After several hours of heavy rainfall, the heavy rain is finally coming to a close. There were several locations that saw almost no rain, and many areas that saw too much rain at once.
Radar estimated rainfall shows that heaviest rains fell south of I-94 and along the Michigan-Indiana border. The first image in this story is radar estimated rainfall. The heaviest is in the colors of yellow with about 3″ to 5″, and orange/red with as much as 5″ to 7″. We have reports through National Weather Service Co-Co-Rahs observers that Decatur in Van Buren County and Mendon in St. Joseph County picked up as much as 7″ from this event. That’s a lot of rain!
Rain totals as of 8 A.M. show just how many locations received over two inches of rain. One thing that also sticks is how little rainfall Holland and areas further to the north and west received.
We’ll continue to update you with the latest rainfall totals as they roll in. Feel free to share your photos and videos as well to the FOX 17 Facebook Page
