1. Two American swimmers have been ordered to stay in Brazil, in connection with the investigation into the claim that they, and two other teammates, were robbed at gunpoint in Rio.

Brazilian authorities removed Jack Conger and Gunnar Bentz from their flight back to the U.S. last night. Teammate Ryan Lochte had already returned to the U.S. at that point, and it's not clear where James Feigen is.

According to Rio Civil Police, Bentz and Conger had not previously given a statement about the alleged incident and police say they're concerned about inconsistencies in the reports.

They said the swimmers reported that their phones and watches were not taken, items that would be a target for thieves in Rio.

Lochte's attorney said Brazil is targeting the swimmers for reporting the alleged robbery.

2. With fall sports just weeks away, some student athletes at Kalamazoo College are being asked to give up their sport or thousands in financial aid.

Back in 2015 the NCAA noticed a violation in the way Kalamazoo College was handing out financial aid to athletes.

School officials say for decades the college listed athletics as criteria for admission, but also for the administration of financial aid to its student-athletes.

The good news is they won’t be making this decision blindly. They already know what their unsanctioned financial aid packages look like, but they’ll also get a chance to see what these new sanctioned amounts will be too.

3. A new school gets ready to open for the community just a few weeks before welcoming students.

Grand Rapids Public School officials will cut the ribbon on the new Grand Rapids Public Museum School this afternoon at 3:30 p.m.

It's located on the 4th floor of the public museum.

It'll serve 180 students in 6th through 8th grade.

What's unique is that instructors use museum exhibits and the entire downtown area as part of student's lessons.

The $4.5 million project is phase one of a $14.5 million investment GRPS is making for the museum school.

4. Kids in Ottawa County have a new place to hang out this morning.

Wednesday, the community gathered at Holland State Park for a dedication ceremony for a brand new playground.

This all started with one woman, who wanted her grandkids to have something to do when they couldn't go in the water at the beach.

That led to a crowd funding effort, which raised the money in just five days.

The non-profit Carter's Kids, along with several other groups, built the playground.

The equipment is expected to last around 30 years.

5. Best buy is turning 50, and it's celebrating by offering 50 deals for 50 hours.

The retailer's official 50th anniversary isn't until Monday, August 22, but the deals start at 11 p.m. tonight.

Some of the deals include up to $300 off select MacBook Pro computers, $400 off a 65-inch Samsung 4k TV, and the iPhone 6s starts at just $1 or an iPhone 6s plus at $99.99.

There are also deals on beats headphones, video games, and much more.

Nearly all of the deals are available both in store and online.
