Hit and run crash injures, ejects motorcyclist

PORT SHELDON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Police are looking for the driver who they say hit a motorcyclist—ejecting him from his bike—before driving away from the scene.

A man from Muskegon who riding the motorcycle was taken to the hospital Friday night. The crash happened shortly after 11:15 p.m. along US-31 South of Stanton in Port Sheldon Township, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

A white car, which likely has damage to the front end or passenger side, hit the motorcycle going northbound on US-31, police said.

The driver of the car pulled over at the Marathon gas station for a short time before leaving the scene, according to investigators.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to Hackley Hospital for leg and back injuries.

He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
