Teen pulled from Lake Michigan last week has died

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The teen who was pulled from Lake Michigan at Pere Marquette Park in Muskegon over a week ago has died.

Jamarion Gomez’s mother, Karmen, posted that Jamarion died Saturday afternoon.

Jamarion had been in critical condition since being hit by a wave while playing the waters off Muskegon on August 11. He was underwater for close to 30 minutes, according to rescuers.

Jamarion was visiting from Lansing and was playing with cousins when the incident occurred.
