COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. -- Trailing 7-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning on Sunday, the West Michigan Whitecaps scored six times in the frame to come back and beat the Dayton Dragons 8-7 at Fifth Third Ballpark, sweeping the three-game series. The Whitecaps had lost 11 of 13 entering the weekend.

David Gonzalez tied the game with an RBI double and Jose Zambrano's bloop single to center scored Gonzalez to put the Whitecaps up for good. Mark Ecker closed out the ninth inning for the save. Will Allen drove in three runs for West Michigan.

Will Maddox added his 156th hit of the season, putting him just eight away from Wynton Bernard's 2014 team record of 164.
