DETROIT (AP) — Stroh’s beer that’s brewed in Detroit is going on sale again.
Pabst Brewing Co. says Stroh’s Bohemian-Style Pilsner made at Brew Detroit in the city’s Corktown neighborhood is available starting Monday at Michigan restaurants, bars and stores.
Rob Nicholl of Brew Detroit tells WDIV-TV his mother formerly worked on advertising for the beer. He says “I grew up with it, so me being able to be a part of it again is huge to me.”
On Friday, The Detroit News reports, several Detroit-area bars will host a 4 p.m. Stroh’s toast to celebrate.
Stroh made beer in Detroit for more than a century until the 1980s, when the city’s Stroh Brewery closed. Since then it has been made since out of state.
The business was sold in 1999.
