NORTON SHORES, Mich. – Police have identified a suspect in a bank robbery in Norton Shores earlier this year.
Police say that the suspect allegedly robbed the First Merit Bank on Norton on May 23. The suspect had come into the bank implying he had a gun and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police say that the suspect is a 33-year-old Grand Rapids man, who is already in custody in the Mecosta County jail for allegedly robbing the Fifth Third Bank in Big Rapids on July 20. Anthony Loose was charged in that crime. Investigators found some of the cash stolen in that robbery thanks to a letter Loose wrote from jail.
The suspect is also being investigated for two other bank robberies in Michigan. Police say he also has a previous conviction for bank robbery from 2011.
