BATTLE CREEK, Mich – The city of Battle Creek has lost an assistant city manager after the man who recently held the post submitted his resignation just six months into the job.
City Manager Rebecca Fleury says Ernesto Reyes decided to resign at the end of his probationary period after determining the job wasn’t a good fit for him. The resignation became effective August 19th.
Reyes took the job in February, replacing then Assistant City Manager Susan Bedsole, who accepted a new job in Ohio.
The city currently has another assistant city manager, Ted Dearing, who’s connected to Battle Creek’s community and economic development. Fleury says the city will be evaluating the current opening and it’s impact on the city budget as things move forward.
Fleury added she wished Mr. Reyes the very best in his future endeavors, thanking him for his time at the City of Battle Creek.
