GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Every other week, FOX 17 features a child in need of a home, someone living in Michigan foster care who hopes to be adopted.

Meet Griffin, 11, a soon-to-be fifth grader who showed off his painting skills Tuesday at Painting With a Twist in Grand Rapids. A sweet boy who's also an artist, no wonder Griffin specifically asked to spend the afternoon here!

“It was fun," Griffin said. "I enjoyed it, it was like soothing to me seeing everyone paint, seeing everyone together."

Telling us jokes as we painted, Griffin's warmth brings people together.

"I try making friends," he said.

Griffin says he loves school, especially reading and math. He's an athlete and hopes to play on the school's football or baseball teams one day. Griffin's also a singer.

"I like singing and stuff," said Griffin. "I like singing other songs that other people sing, the songs that are on the radio."

He loves to be active, go on trips, or just hang out playing cards and board games; but the top of Griffin's wish list is a family.

"I just want a family," said Griffin.

He's hoping to have parents adopt him, who will love and help him along the way.

“I hope that someone does want to care for me and I’m hoping that someone will ask to care for me," said Griffin. "And I hope that I find a family.”

If you would like to adopt Griffin, or learn more about the adoption process, call Griffin's adoption agency, Orchards Children's Services at: 1 (855) 694-7301.

FOX 17 would like to extend a special thank you to Painting With a Twist, Grand Rapids, for such a special filming session!
