McDonald’s officially recalls 29 million Step-iT Activity Wristbands after dozens of injuries, burns reported

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced that McDonald’s is recalling millions of its ‘Step-iT’ Activity Wristbands that were included in Happy Meals, after receiving dozens of reports of injuries and burns to young children.

“Step-iT” Activity Wristbands — The recalled wristbands can cause skin irritation or burns to children. About 29 million units are included in the U.S. alone. McDonald’s has received more than 70 reports of incidents, including seven reports of blisters. Consumers should immediately take the recalled wristbands from children and return them to any McDonald’s for a free replacement toy and either a yogurt tube or bag of apple slices.
