GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The National Weather Service has determined now that there were six different tornadoes that blew through West Michigan on Saturday, August 20.

The count had risen to five on Tuesday afternoon.  By Tuesday night, the weather service determined that one of the tornadoes that hit in Ottawa County was actually two tornadoes that skipped over a portion of the originally tracked path.

The weather service also released a video loop of the radar imagery from Saturday afternoon that shows distinct circulation in the storms as they roared through Allegan, Ottawa, Kent and Ionia and Montcalm Counties.
