1. The 15th annual Richland Park Horse Trials is underway with top equestrians from all over the world competing.
Among this year's competitors are members from the U.S. Olympic Eventing Team Lauren Kieffer and Boyd Martin along with Canadian Olympian Jessica Phoenix.
Kieffer competed in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, where she and fellow teammate Clark Montgomery failed to finish the cross country course.
The Richland park event runs through Sunday.
Admission is available for single or multiple days and all money from admission will go to the Cheff Therapeutic Riding Center in Augusta.
2. Kicking off today is the popular 28th Street Metro Cruise.
It officially opens at 4 p.m. today, with lots of classic cars to check out.
There will also be live music throughout the day Saturday.
Also tonight from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Cascade Metro Cruise Warm Up behind United Bank on 28th Street there will be a dunk tank.
All proceeds from that are going to the Kent County Sherriff's K9 department.
3. Two major festivals kick-off in downtown Grand Rapids today.
The first is the Hispanic Festival.
It's going on at Calder Plaza, and runs through Sunday.
There will be Latin American food and drinks, activities for the kids, and music.
Today, the festival is going on from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m., and it's totally free to attend.
4. Festival number two: hundreds of people are expected to fill Rosa Parks Circle for the annual Polish Fest.
Today it runs from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m., and finishes up on Sunday.
The Polish Fest includes lots of good food, music, and dance.
Plus there will be plenty of vendors. The fest is put on each year by the Polish Heritage Society.
5. Runners from around West Michigan are preparing to get muddy this weekend.
The Grand Rapids Mud Run is Saturday, next to Celebration Cinemas South in Kentwood.
The brand new 5K course is filled with mud pits, a 60-foot mudslide, tunnel crawls, walls, and slippery hill climbs.
Proceeds benefit the national youth ministry called, Never the Same.
Adults and kids are welcome to participate. It all kicks off at 8:30 a.m.
