ALLENDALE, Mich. — For the second time this weekend, students at Grand Valley State University were alerted about a reported sexual assault near the main campus.

According to an alert sent out to students Sunday, a second assault was reported Sunday afternoon. According to police, the incident happened Saturday just before 2:00 a.m. in the parking lot of Campus View Apartments on 42nd Avenue in Allendale.

The victim was retrieving items in their back seat when a male suspect approached from behind and sexually assaulted them, according to police. No description of the suspect is available. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the complaint.

The first sexual assault reportedly happened on Friday near the Burger King along 48th Avenue and near Lake Michigan Drive.

If you have any information, call the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department at (616) 738-4022, or the Ottawa County Silent Observer at (877) 887-4536. Campus officials advise that if you see suspicious activity call 911.

  • NO PC FOR ME

“No description of the suspect is available”…..right….
Should read ” No description will be released due to political directives”

PC is more important than public safety

Once again, there is extremely poor grammar in this article written by a so-called journalist (who should be an English expert, of course!) “The victim (one person) was retrieving items from THEIR???? back seat.” “A male suspect approached from behind and sexually assaulted THEM???” This is English 101 people: Subject-verb agreement which I learned in 6th grade, but apparently it’s not even taught in college anymore. Talk about dumbing down of American students – it is absolutely a damn shame.
