KALAMAZOO, Mich.– Police arrested a 24-year-old Kalamazoo resident early Saturday morning after police say the person pointed a gun at someone and took off on foot once noticing officers were approaching.
Police say they were trying to control a large crowd in the 1300 block of N. Burdick Street when they saw the suspect point the gun at someone who yelled “don’t do it”.
The suspect was arrested without incident after a brief foot pursuit, according to a release from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.
The loaded semi-automatic handgun, which police say was stolen out of Nevada, was recovered from the suspect after the arrest.
The suspect was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a stolen handgun, resisting and obstructing, and felon in possession of a handgun.
