KALAMAZOO, Mich. — You have the chance to taste and enjoy locally-grown produce during a tomato and pepper Taste-off competition in Kalamazoo.
The event is Saturday, September 10, at the Kalamazoo County Health & Community Services building located at 3299 Gull Road in Kalamazoo at the Nazareth complex. It runs from 9:30am until Noon.
The competitions will cover three different categories of tomatoes and sweet and hot peppers. Lunch will be served at the end of the program, including tomatoes and peppers from the Taste-off.
A Garden Market will also feature local vendors selling fresh produce and hand-crafted creations. Kalamazoo County’s MSU Extension Master Gardeners will be present to answer your general gardening questions, along with local tomato expert, Jeff Fleming of Hillside Heirlooms.
