KALAMAZOO, Mich.– As many people get ready to enjoy the last, unofficial weekend of summer, Michigan Blood wants to remind everyone to take a moment to pay it forward.

They urge you to donate blood during the Michigan Blood ‘Labor Day – Honor a Hero’ event, taking place now through September 5th.

The purpose is to give back to first-responders who put their lives on the line every day. It also coincides with 9/11, as the nation remembers the tragedy 15 years ago.

Every person who attempts to donate at Michigan Blood during the Labor Day promotion will receive a free $10 gift card courtesy of Meijer. After your donation, Michigan Blood invites you to sign a thank you card, which will be delivered to local first-responders in honor of the 15th Anniversary of 9/11.

You can donate at any of these locations.

Appointments are preferred for donor convenience, but not mandatory. To schedule an appointment, please call 1-866-MIBLOOD (642-5663) or schedule online through their donor portal.
