ROTHBURY, Mich. – The Electric Forest festival is expanding to two weekend for 2017.
The multi-day music festival that takes over woods and a campground in Rothbury and Grant Township every summer will now be over two weekends with a few off days in between for cleaning and maintenance. Attendees can buy tickets for both weekends, but will need to leave between weekends.
The festival will run for eight days, from June 22 to June 25 and from June 29 to July 2. Organizers say that all eight days will be different, but some musical acts may be at both weekends.
The change is meant to encourage more new people to attend the festival. Capacity for each weekend is being reduced by 10%, but with the expanded dates, organizers say more will be able to participate. All the festival’s community events will still continue as well.
