WEST MICHIGAN- We're right in the midst of Friday night football and one of the last few Fridays of summer, and it looks like we'll be dodging raindrops at times during the day.

A few isolated showers are possible after lunch, but this won't be the main line to expect over the next 24 hours.

The later into the afternoon and evening we go, we'll expect heavier showers and thunderstorms to develop at times.  This will be a situation where some areas stay cloudy and dry, while others get plenty of rain and maybe a rumble of thunder.

While I expect rain at times during the games tonight, I don't expect many delays due to lightning.  There may be a few rumbles of thunder, but a majority of areas will just see regular old rain.

That trend will continue into the 4th quarter and beyond midnight where more of a line of showers and thunderstorms works its way into the area by tomorrow morning as well.

Expect rain to come to a close for most areas by 3 PM tomorrow.  Areawide totals greater than 1" in many locations.  Stay up to date with the FOX 17 Weather App.
