IONIA, Mich. - A dog that was ordered to be euthanized has disappeared from the Ionia County Animal Shelter.

A judge ordered three dogs, Major, Mario and Luigi, to be put down after they got loose and killed a farmer's goat.  The dogs' owners have been fighting to save them.

But, Major has disappeared from the animal shelter.  The dog went missing sometime between last Thursday and Friday morning.

The couple tells FOX 17 they had nothing to do with taking the dog, but take some solace that Major is alive out there somewhere, instead of awaiting death at the shelter.

It’s awfully funny how these furbaby warriors were completely silent about this dog missing until the news story broke. Almost a week passed of this dog missing and there wasn’t a bit of outcry until fox 17 was involved again. Someone in their little circle knows something. When the truth comes out I hope the book gets thrown at the guilty party. If these dog owners would of accepted that their dogs killed those animals and asked for a reduced sentence they may get a little further with everyone. But they are blinded by their own agenda and want to be percieved as the victims. What is this farmer supposed to tell his young son? Tell you the truth the dogs would’ve gotten the three S treatment if it were my house. SHOOT, SHOVEL, SHUT-UP.

Yay! Glad someone saved one. It’s insane any judge would order death to any dog being a dog. Many dogs have a fierce prey drive and should not be deemed “aggressive” for killing a prey animal. Goes to show how ignorant the government is on animal behavior.

What country are we living in when you can call for the death of any living, breathing being, based on an assumption! The very foundation of this country was based on laws protecting us against such actions. Innocent until guilt is PROVEN! And even if these dogs did kill a farmers livestock, pay for the damn goat and move on. We kill millions of farm animals every day in America for no reason other than filling our gut. Just insane to pass judgement and kill three dogs based on a hunch! America has become a crazed circus and that is evident by the two clowns we have running for president. Get it together!

I hope someone rescued all . For a goat, let the owners pay you for it and get another. Don’t get me wrong I love goats also, but three dogs have to pay the price. Nononononononono

So, weird, I keep getting notifications that someone responded to an earlier comment I left, but I can’t find either my comment nor theirs, so am unable to reply back.

It is, indeed, a very sorry state of affairs when we still can’t agree on ‘an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth’ when it comes to humans killing humans; however, animals are so easily eliminated. Human killers are put in prison. Animals are put to death. Doesn’t make much sense to me. I, too, hope all three dogs get away safely.
