Gowen man arrested for Wyoming arson

WYOMING, Mich. – Police have arrested a Gowen man for allegedly starting a fire at a Wyoming business.

The 30-year-old suspect has not yet been arraigned, so his identity has not been made available.  Wyoming police say that the suspect is currently being held in the Montcalm County Jail on Arson and Stalking charges in that county.

The man is suspected of throwing a Molotov cocktail and starting a fire at Destiny Dental in the 1100 block of 28th Street SW on Saturday, September 17 just before 8:00am.  The fire was put out quickly and caused minimal damage.  The business was closed at the time and no one was hurt.

The man is expected to be charged in Kent County for 3rd degree Arson and being a Habitual Offender.
