HASTINGS, Mich. — Grizzly, Barry County’s K9 officer, has  received new body armor thanks to a non-profit organization.

Vested Interest in K9’s Inc. provides bullet and stab protective vests to dogs in law enforcement, according to a press release from the Barry County Sheriff’s Office. The organization was established in 2009 and is funded through private and corporate donations.

The company has provided more than 2,000 protective vests to law enforcement agencies across the nation.  Each one costs over $1,000.
