NEAR COOPERSVILLE, Mich. -- An Ottawa County road has reopened after a traffic crash involving multiple vehicles and a horse in Ottawa County.

Dispatchers say the call came in at approximately 7:18 a.m. on Tuesday, for a crash on 80th near Cleveland in Polkton Township, just outside of Coopersville. Police say Laura Grove, 27, was on her way home to Ravenna after working third shift at Flextronics in Coopersville. Grove struck a horse that was in the middle of the road, suffering critical injuries and becoming trapped in her vehicle. Two other motorists noticed the horse in the road, turned on their hazards, and pulled over to call 911. As they were pulled over, another vehicle traveling from the other direction struck the horse and crashed into one of the stopped vehicles. One person suffered non life-threatening injuries.
