GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A popular downtown restaurant that had health code issues earlier this year is being sold.

XO Asian Cuisine on Monroe Center in Grand Rapids posted a sign on their door Tuesday that the restaurant is closing and the new owner will reopen as Soho Sushi and Bar. A spokesperson for the restaurant says the restaurant will be closed for renovations when they begin to transition, but that it will remain open until then.

The restaurant was closed for a week in April by the Kent County Health Department for multiple health code violations.  The establishment had been given 30 days to fix roughly 30 different violations from an inspection in March and had failed to do so.  The owner apologized to fans of the restaurant and made the fixes and the restaurant was given the green light to reopen in about a week.
