BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – A Battle Creek Pennfield High School was on an “outside lockdown” for a time Tuesday.

The Calhoun County Sheriff contacted the school to inform them that they were investigating a home invasion near the school.

Pennfield Superintendent Tim Everett tells FOX 17 that the school kept students indoors.  The lockdown was lifted at 12:55pm and all activities are back on schedule.

The Calhoun County Sheriff tells FOX 17 that there was no home invasion, but some teens from the school tried to break into a nearby home that had a medical marijuana grow operation in the garage.  The home owner saw the teens trying to break in and called police.  Police caught one of them and they were searching for others nearby.
