Consumers Energy temporary lighting near GVSU

ALLENDALE TWP., Mich. – Allendale Charter Township has approved a plan to bring permanent streetlights along apartment housing near Grand Valley State University.

Consumers Energy had already installed temporary lighting along 48th Avenue this month to help with student safety at GVSU after reports of several sexual assaults on students living at the off campus housing this year.  Permanent lighting will be installed later in November and December and the temporary lights will be replaced with new fixtures along the sidewalk on the west side of 48th.

More lighting will be installed next summer on Pierce Street between 42nd and 48th Avenues.
