West Michigan – The first snow of the season fell over parts of the area Wednesday afternoon.

Most of the precipitation stayed as rain from I-96 to the south. Enough cold air mixed in to the north to change the precipitation to wet snow. Temperatures stayed in the low-mid 30s this afternoon with snow accumulating on the grass, and in some cases the roadways.

Accumulations ranged from around a trace to over 1 inch. Locations like Big Rapids, Grant, Edmore, Stanton and Mt. Pleasant reported snow on the ground.

Warmer temperatures return later this week with no additional snow in the forecast.
