EAST LANSING, Mich -- Michigan State (2-5) will be taking on the Michigan (7-0) this week, something that nobody expected heading into this years rivalry game is the discrepancy in the win-loss records of the two teams but the Spartans are focused on the opportunity to play.

"What matters just like if we were 7 and 0 right now, what matters is how you play on the game field, how you play on the field, you know, what breaks goes your way, what doesn't...what happens on the field and you've got to be ready game time to do your very, very best.. and that's my challenge to our football team... be strong, look adversity in the face, and get yourself ready to go" Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio said.

"You gotta come to play...you know, I'm gonna get my younger guys right in my room... along with me and Josiah you know we're gonna get our offensive unit ready to play...uh so, we just have to come together as one and do what we need to do to you know have a shot at winning or to win the game" Michigan State wide receiver R.J. Shelton said.

"It is a special opportunity, it is something that we can cherish and that our class and go down being known for going 4-0 against Michigan, so I don't think we're gonna shy away from that... just because Michigan's having a great season and undefeated so far... so we're still gonna try and bring that mentality... we gotta come ready to play and we can win this game, we will win this game" Michigan State tight end Josiah Price said.

"You know, it's not acceptable the way we've been playing...and we know that, we understand that and we've been doing everything we can to get a win it just hasn't been going our way so you know if we can just get that one victory and kind of turn the tide a little bit because we feel like things have kinda of snowballed out of control so we need to kinda slow that down and get a win and turn it around" Michigan State linebacker Riley Bullough said.

The 64th meeting for the Paul Bunyon trophy is Saturday at noon, the Spartans have won the last three including last year's in dramatic fashion.
