HOLLAND TWP., Mich. – The Ottawa County Sheriff’s office is investigating after a 27-year-old man from Holland was hit by a car Friday night.

It happened shortly after 7 p.m. when the man was crossing James Street near North Park Drive.

Police say the man was wearing all dark clothes, did not cross the street using a cross walk and was hit because the driver did not see him.

The driver, identified as a 36-year-old Holland woman, struck the man, knocking him the ground.

Police say the victim was taken to the hospital in good condition and only suffered minor injuries.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident, but the Ottawa County Sheriff’s office says it is continuing to investigate.
