WEST MICHIGAN — After an unseasonably warm morning with our temperatures starting in the 60s (we should be in the upper 30s for morning lows at this time of year), we’re expecting a warm afternoon.

A cold front will push through this afternoon, which will keep our temperatures from rising a whole lot from where they are right now. Still, highs in the upper 60s at this time of year are definitely a bonus.

Here’s a look at where that cold front resides as of this early morning writing:

That cold front will bring temperatures more typical of late October by later tonight and tomorrow. Some showers will also move in behind this front. Here’s a look at Future Track HD tomorrow morning as that band of showers moves across the I-96 corridor:

The showers look fairly light at this time, but they will increase in coverage and intensity as they move south. Places like Kalamazoo and Battle Creek may even hear a rumble of thunder late tomorrow morning:

Rainfall totals indeed look heaviest in southern parts of the FOX 17 viewing area. Here’s a look at forecast rainfall totals via the European forecast model:

After a seasonably cooler day tomorrow, warmer temperatures will return on Halloween and continue into the middle of next week. The weather should stay dry until Wednesday afternoon.
