ALLEGAN, Mich. — A dog recovering from being stung by hundreds of bees is having a bad week, according to the shelter taking care of him.

Animal shelter Luvnpupz in Allegan says Stinger the dog was rushed to Michigan State University for an emergency, saying he might be suffering from an autoimmune disease.

Doctors say treatment will either help him if they’re right, or be very bad for him if they’re wrong. Luvnpupz says Stinger is miserable and that they’re going to try.

In September, Stinger was abandoned at an emergency clinic after being attacked by a swarm of ground bees, suffering a severe allergic reactions to the stings.

Stinger is a pitbull mix who is less than a year old.
