Safety gadgets for runners

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.-  Running is a great way to stay in shape, but you don't have to stop just because its getting dark earlier.  Camren DeWaard from Genius Phone Repair has a few gadgets that can help keep you safe while running.

First, the Million Mile Light which started as a kick starter campaign and is now available on Amazon.  It's a battery free safety light that's powered by motion.   The device is weather proof and can be seen from up to 600 ft.   It retails for about $20 and includes a 5-year warranty.

We also profiled a few products from Sabre that are also available on Amazon.  The Runner Personal Alarm is a $15 siren you can wear on your wrist.  It's 130dB Alarm can be heard up to 1,000 ft away.   They also make a few styles of personal protection spray, including a maximum strength Pepper Geland a 3-in-1 Defense Spray which contains a combination of pepper spray and military grade tear gas.

Both devices have a hand strap for quick access, and  include a UV marking dye that can be used by Law Enforcement to track down an assailant, without the suspect knowing they've been marked.   They run about $8 each.
