MUSKEGON, Mich. - A random act of kindness is getting some recognition after a stranger stepped up to help a local mother, paying hundreds of dollars for her child's medication.

Angie Amaya, a Pharmacy Technician at Meijer on Harvey Street in Muskegon says Wednesday's incident brought tears to her eyes. She said a woman came in to buy her son's medication. The patient was uninsured and hurting financially and was unable to pay the nearly $300 for her child's medicine. She says, at that point, a stranger nearby took notice, and without hesitation asked for the bill and covered the amount in full.

"We do not know him but if he’s found he needs a big hug that was an amazing thing to do," said Amaya.

That mother of two who was helped later posted on Facebook that her faith in humanity is restored and that she can't begin to express her gratitude to that stranger.

The kind gesture's being shared on social media and is now inspiring others to pay it forward.
