A brand new CarMax is coming to Michigan, and in the spirit of Thanksgiving they decided to hold a friendly competition to help charities in the community.

The auto company had it's ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, and of course Todd and Leigh Ann gave them a big, Morning Mix  welcome.

Along with the opening ceremony, CarMax held a friendly competition between the Morning Mix and other media personalities in the community. They competed against three other teams to win money for a charity of their choice.

The Morning Mix chose to support Feeding America West Michigan, and the competition was fierce!

The first challenge was to show off parallel parking skills. There were four orange cones with an egg sitting on top of each cone, the goal was to park within the cones without breaking any of the eggs.

Todd was in control of the car while Leigh Ann coached, but Jamal from WZZM was the only one that parked perfectly.

The next challenge was to try to guess the year, make, and model and color of a car that was underneath a tarp. The model ended up being a 2016 Red Chevy Sonic. Leigh Ann and Todd guessed they year correctly, putting the Morning Mix in the lead!

The final challenge was very festive, all the teams had to pack piles of presents into the trunk of their vehicle. Todd and Leigh Ann say it was very difficult because of all the different sized presents, but eventually they did it.

When all the points were tallied up, the Morning Mix came in second place, but CarMax gave a check to all the charities that were represented.

Leigh Ann and Todd agree that it was a fun and beneficial afternoon for all the teams involved.

CarMax is located right behind Art Van on 28th Street in Kentwood, so stop on by for any auto needs.
