Man arrested in stabbing in Montcalm Co.

STANTON, Mich. – A Montcalm Co. man is in jail for allegedly stabbing another man overnight.

The incident happened on Colby Road in Evergreen Township at about 2:30am.  Michigan State Police say that the 19-year-old suspect from Gowen confronted an 18-year-old man at a residence.  The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim several times before being subdued by the family members of the victim.

The suspect is awaiting arraignment on charges of Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault, and Home Invasion.

The victim was taken to Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids.  His condition is not known.
