Kentwood man arrested for trying to meet child online for sex

KENTWOOD, Mich. – A Kentwood man has been arrested on charges of Child Sexually Abusive Activity and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime.

The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit announced the arrest of David Robert Diehl, 39, after an investigation into his online activity.  Investigators say the Diehl is suspected of trying to arrange a meeting with a child for “purposes of sexual exploitation.”

Police say they searched Diehl’s home with a warrant on Tuesday.  They say that Diehl is a pastor at a Grand Rapids church. FOX 17 has learned that Diehl is a pastor at Church on Fire in Grand Rapids.

Diehl was arraigned on the two charges Wednesday.
