Albion man critically injured from assault; drugs found in house

ALBION, Mich. — Police say a 24-year-old man is in critical condition after being assaulted Wednesday afternoon.

Albion police say they were sent to the 200 block of E. Erie Street for a reported drug overdose. When they got there, they found a 24-year-old man from Albion lying unresponsive. He was taken to the hospital for a severe head injury that seems to have come from an assault.

Detectives say they arrested a 28-year-old man who also found in the home, who is suspected of assaulting the other man.

Drugs were also found at the home; investigators say they believe it to be cocaine.

Albion police are investigating the incident, and ask anyone with information to call Detective Nicole Wygant at 517-629-7824 or Silent Observer at 517-629-2700.
