KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Many people came out for the annual tree lighting ceremony in Bronson Park Friday.

In the video below, you can hear people cheering as the tree begins to illuminate.

Before the tree was lit, city commissioners read ‘Twas the night before Christmas’ and welcomed Santa and Mrs. Claus to the stage.

Afterward, live music lit up the stage and children were able to talk with jolly old Saint Nick.

People who attended the ceremony were encouraged to “stuff the sleigh” with non-perishable food to benefit the Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes food bank.
