BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Kent County Sheriff's Department says an 18-year-old from Wyoming was killed early Sunday morning after losing control of his car and hitting a tree.

It happened on 68th Street SW east of Wilson Avenue SW in Bryon Township around 12:50 a.m. Sunday.

Speed appears to be a factor in the crash and the man was not wearing his seatbelt, according to a news release from the Kent County Sheriff's Department.

The accident remains under investigation.

There is currently no public transportation in our county of residence. I privately owned vehicles will become obsolete here in the near future.
