Fatal crash in Ionia Co; M-66 re-opened

IONIA COUNTY, Mich. — Michigan State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Monday evening in Ionia County.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. on M66 near Peck Lake Road in Berlin Township of Ionia County.  Police say Elizabeth Vanderhoff, 39, was northbound in a 2003 Pontiac Aztec when she drifted across the center line. Vanderhoff crashed into a southbound vehicle.  She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger was hospitalized with unknown injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle was also hospitalized. His condition is not clear at this time.

Neither speed nor alcohol are believed to have been factors in this crash.
