Runaway teen from Kalamazoo found safe

UPDATE: Kalamazoo police say they found Poliak in Portage. Investigators say he was found by employees at Target who had seen the media coverage and recognized him from his photo. When police got to the store, they found him playing video games inside. Poliak has been reunited with his family.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Kalamazoo police are looking for a teenager with autism who ran away from his home Wednesday evening.

Michael Poliak, 14, was last seen in the 1000 block of Cambrdige Drive around 5:30 p.m. Poliak has run away before, and has been previously found along Westnedge Ave in Portage, using open businesses to stay out of the cold.

Poliak is desribed as being 5’7″ tall and weighing 155 lbs, possibly wearing a grey light-weight zip-up jacket, black tennis shoes, black gloves, and a brown, plaid winter hat with ear flaps.
