1. Michigan’s controversial recount of the presidential election is finally over.

The same federal judge, who issued the order to start it earlier this week, changed his decision.

He said the Jill Stein campaign didn’t resent any evidence of fraud, stemming from last month’s election.

Stein also pushed for recounts in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, where she also got about one percent of the vote.

2. A local girl with big dreams leaves for Alabama today to compete in the Junior Olympics.

Jana Stiffler from Twin Lakes has been running for the past two years. She trains with the Grand Rapids Running Club and competes against other home school students.

Jana qualified for the Junior Olympics after a 3K race. While it’s nerve wracking, it’s something she’s been hoping for and working toward.

She’ll race against 200 other girls, between the ages of 11 and 12.

3. We know the opening date for the Chick-Fil-A location in Gaines Township.

They posted this a picture of a sign reading “coming soon” on Facebook. Later in the comments, they announced they’ll open up January 12.

The restaurant is at Kalamazoo Avenue and M-6, and is the first one in West Michigan.

In the past, the restaurant has offered free meals for a year to the first 100 people at the Grand Opening.

4. Nordstorm’s $85 leather wrapped in stone is sold out.

According to Nordstrom, “it’s a smooth Los Angeles-area stone wrapped in rich, vegetable-tanned American leather, secured by sturdy contrast back stitching.”

The store says that the traditional hardening process also gives the leather a “beautiful ombre effect.”

There’s also a smaller version for $65 that’s also sold out. It’s not clear if the store will restock the stones.

5. Here’s a chance for the entire family to meet Santa.

The Salvation Army is holding their annual breakfast with Santa at “Little Pine Island Camp” in Comstock Park on Saturday.

You’ll be able to eat pancakes and sausage, work on crafts, and of course get your picture taken with Santa.

The event runs from 9 to 11 a.m. and tickets cost $6 per person, or $20 per household.

To reserve tickets, call (616) 784-1404 or get them at the door.
