1. President-elect Donald Trump is arriving in Grand Rapids as he continues his “Thank You Tour” following his presidential victory last month.

While Trump takes his victory lap, a survey released by Pew Research showed that only 41 percent of Americans approve of the job that Trump has done so far. He’s more than halfway through announcing his cabinet pics, and announced his policies and plans.

Now, there’s news that President Trump intends to remain an executive producer on “Celebrity Apprentice” and the mounting concerns that his foreign business deals could present a constitutional quandary are unlikely to help.

2. A paleontologist recently found a dinosaur tail perfectly preserved in Amber.

The paleontologist found the bones at an Amber Market near the Chinese border. This is the first time part of a mummified dinosaur skeleton has been discovered.

The tail is 99 million years old and belonged to a young dinosaur from the same group as the velociraptors and the tyrannosaurus.

The sparrow-sized creature could have fit in the palm of your hand. The amber contains bone fragments and feathers, adding to evidence that many dinosaurs had feathers rather than scales.

Paleontologists say no genetic material was preserved.

3. Color forecasters at the Pantone Color Institute have declared “Greenery” as the color of the year for 2017.

The company describes it as “a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of Spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew.”

Expect to see the color in fashion, consumer products, technology and more.

There were actually two colors for 2016: Baby Blue and Dusty Pink.

4. If you’re continuing your holiday shopping this week, why not head to Rockford.

On Thursday’s show we featured five local businesses who graciously offered some incredible steals just for you!

Those stores include Bow Dacious Design Studio, Full Circle Design, J.T. Stitchery, Paper Doll Boutique, and Kayla Rae Cellars.

5. The annual Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Radiothon continues to raise money for a good cause.

It started on Thursday, and continues until 6 p.m. on Friday.

The event features current and former patients, doctors, and leaders in the community, sharing stories of how the hospital has impacted their lives.

The two-day fundraiser is broadcast on Star 105.7, and last year people pledged more than $166,000 from the hospital.

If you’d like to donate, visit the hospital’s website.
