TYRONE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Kent County Sheriff’s office says one person was killed when their vehicle rolled in a crash in the area of Fruit Ridge Avenue and 18 Mile Road early Sunday.

It happened in the 3600 block of 18 Mile Road shortly after 1:30 a.m.

Police say a passing motorist reported that a vehicle had rolled over and the driver was ejected.

That driver, who is only being identified as a 31-year-old man from Kent City, died at the scene.

Police say he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Attempts to save the man were unsuccessful, according to release from the Kent County Sheriff’s office.

Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash which remains under investigation.
