WYOMING, Mich. — The Wyoming Department of Public Safety is investigating after a 23-year-old man was shot at the intersection of Burlingame Avenue SW and Burton Street SW Friday.

It happened around 11:41 p.m. near the 1800 block of Berkley Avenue SW.

The victim tells police he was inside his parked car when the suspects approached him and forced his door open. One of the suspects then shot the victim before running from the scene.

Police closed portions of Lee Street SW and Federal Avenue SW and Burlingame Avenue SW and Burton Street to search the area but did not find the two suspects, who are being described as medium-build Hispanic males, wearing all black.

Deputies say while their investigation is in its early stages, there is a possibility that the victim and the suspects knew each other.

By 3 a.m. our crew says deputies began to clear the scene.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Wyoming Department of Public Safety or Silent Observer.
