LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan’s two Democratic senators who have opposed many of the top nominees of President Donald Trump are facing extra heat before the Senate considers perhaps his most important pick of all — Judge Neil Gorsuch for the Supreme Court.

Republicans and conservative groups are urging Sens. Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters to support the nomination. Democrats and their allies remain angry that Republicans blocked then-President Barack Obama’s nominee last year and are pressing the senators to reject Trump’s choice.

Majority Republicans will likely need the support of 60 of the Senate’s 100 members to move to a vote on Gorsuch.

Peters says he has an “open mind” but some of Gorsuch’s past rulings “raise some flags.” Stabenow says she has “deep concerns” about Gorsuch.

Hearings begin in three weeks.

Neither of them will vote to confirm him, especially Stabenow. She has “deep concerns” which translates into “No way in hell I’d ever favor anybody selected by a Republican”. She’s a rubber stamp Democrat whose claims to fame include her favoring farm bills, her steadfast warnings about global warming, and her now phony promise, forgotten by most, to get rid of Asian Carp in the Great Lakes. She’s a perfect example, among others, why we need term limits.

Wishful thinking, Bob. But Stabenow’s not up for reelection until 2019 and Peters, 2021. I’m not looking for Peters to vote for confirmation, and if the Lord Almighty was nominated by any Republican President, Stabenow would vote ‘nay’.

I think the election is actually November 2018, we should be able to vote her out! The state did vote Republican last November.

Aww, a little democrap is upset because the Senate followed the legal precedent founded by the infamous plagiarist Joe Biden… Boo Hoo!

Not my Senators. Most of the people in the state voted for Trump or conservative principles. Do you think they would represent the majority? Term limits are already in place… it’s called “People have got to get their head out of their butts, learn who and what they are voting for, and vote these losers out of office”. An uninformed and disconnected voter is the problem.
