GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Grand Rapids Police say a parole absconder wanted for questioning in a death investigation is in custody after a search on the city's northeast side.

The man was spotted behind the Arby's restaurant in the 1200 block of Leonard NE just before 12:30 p.m. He took off running from police.  They found him about two hours later near Leonard and Ball Avenue NE and took him into custody without incident.

Police say the man, who is 30 years old and is a parole absconder, was found in a vehicle which was taken from a 19-year-old woman who was found dead on Monday. The woman was found Monday behind the Lake Forest Apartments.

Police say the man is not a suspect in the woman's death, but was wanted for questioning.

The initial investigation showed that there were no signs of foul play in the woman's death. The man is believed to have connections with the woman, but the nature of those were not disclosed.
