GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Several homes were hit by bullets on the city’s west side Sunday afternoon.

Grand Rapids police officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area of Crosby Street NW and Hamilton around 3 p.m. Sunday.

Crews told FOX 17 a number of shell casings were found, and a couple homes in the area had been hit with bullets.

Witnesses describe it as a drive by shooting that left several bullet holes in a couple homes.

“Sounded like a bunch of pops, says Michael John. “I didn’t really know what happened.”

“It was like right in front of our house,” says Ashley Wilbur. “It just sounded like a cap gun. A normal cap gun.”

Police have not made any arrests and say they only have a vague description of a suspect.

It’s unclear what led up to the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call Grand Rapids Police at 616-456-3400 or Silent Observer at 616-774-2345.
